victoria’s secret is pulling a “love your body” marketing campaign
isn’t that just frickin cute?
victoria’s secret
the underwear company that is famous for irresponsibly reinforcing unrealistic and harmful expectations of people’s bodies. the same company that only stocks clothing, bras, and underwear so long as you fall within their range of *acceptable* body sizes. the same company that only uses models of a very specific height, weight, hair style, facial structure, and breast size.
the last thing any of their shitty advertising has ever told me is that i should “love my body”.
*yes, it is a promo for the “body” bras - and they are appropriating body positive marketing to sell them.
Because there’s so much difference in the bodies of their models… And you’re telling me that if I buy your push-up bra, I can love my body, too? Allow me to copy the above gesture and direct it at VS. Never have bought anything from them. Never will. VS is BS
Jesus, I never noticed how sickly the VS models look.
I hate that the body-positive movement often leaves out the people who aren’t curvy (telling someone to pick up a goddamn cheeseburger is just as bad as telling someone to put one down), but seriously… something especially about the girl on the left. Her thighs!
I dunno. There’s just something about all of them that screams to me the wrong kind of skinny.
Also, haha to VS making a body+ campaign indeed. Because they do all have the same body and I have yet to see anything plus size in any of the adverts.
so true. i cant find anything in my sixe (xl/xxl) in their stores.
Reblogging solely for this comment ^
